Billy McCloskey, Ph.D., LP

Hello! I’m Billy McCloskey, a licensed clinical psychologist at Collaborative Health Center with experience partnering with clients to address a wide range of psychological challenges by helping clients achieve their goals and continue to find joy in their lives.  While I work with clients to address a variety of difficulties, I specialize in working with adults to address challenges with substance use, traumatic experiences, and feelings of depression.  I believe that effective treatment requires a strong relationship between clients and providers and my treatment centers on understanding the things that matter to you and will work with you to develop a plan to achieve them.  To do this, I work from an integrated framework of different psychotherapy techniques (e.g., psychodynamic, Cognitive-behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, etc.) and work with you to determine what approach will be most helpful.

Education & Experience: I earned both my Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University (EMU) with clinical rotations at the EMU psychology clinic (General Mental Health), the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center (Substance Use Disorders), and the University of Michigan department of Psychiatry (Neuropsychological Assessment).  I completed my predoctoral internship at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI with rotations in General Mental Health, Substance Use Disorders, and in the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) clinic.  In addition to providing clinical services, I serve as a clinical supervisor to doctoral students providing psychotherapy services at the EMU Community Psychology Clinic

In addition to my clinical experiences, I completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Veterans Health Administration’s National Center for Organization Development (NCOD) where I’m currently the supervisory psychologist on the Organizational Health Support & Intervention Team.  I coach leaders and work with teams to promote employee engagement, identify opportunities for growth, and help people achieve their professional goals.

Having someone with you whether you’re suffering, searching for something, or just curious about yourself can be very helpful. I offer evening and weekend appointments so, if you’re interested, I would be happy to partner with you to understand what you’re hoping to get from treatment and figure out how to get there.
