
Howard holds a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. He also holds a Master’s degree in business management and has extensive business experience, primarily in human resources management. His counseling experience includes working with adults, couples, families and adolescents on such issues as relationship challenges, trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, grief and loss and employment-related issues, among others. Howard holds the credential of Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and has worked in inpatient, residential, Intensive Outpatient and individual outpatient substance abuse treatment centers. He has worked with adult clients experiencing substance abuse, addiction and co-occurring issues. He takes a compassionate, non-judgmental, collaborative approach to counseling by partnering with clients and applying informed therapeutic methods, including motivational interviewing, third wave cognitive behavioral therapy utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness informed therapy, and psychodynamic informed approaches.
